Napoleonic Range

Great Britain: Kings Hussars or 15th Light Dragoons, 1813

Initially the light Dragoon Regiments in 1784 wore laced jackets and helmets instead of the hussar cap. Many regiments began to adopt the detail of sabretaches and pelisses, and in 1805 four light draggon regiments obtained permission to add "Hussars" to the end of their regiment name. They quickly became fully equiped as Hussars, with elegant and very expensive uniforms. This regiment had red shakos for the officers and black for the men.

France: Imperial Guard, Chasseurs-a-cheval, 1804

In 1800 a squadron of chasseurs-a-cheval was formed from Bonaparte's former staff guard during the Egyptian campaign, and in 1801 it was expanded to a regiment. They accompanied the Emperer on all his campaigns.
